Message from Chairman
As we welcome the New Year, I am honored to serve as your Chairperson of the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber Board of Governors for 2022. Our Chamber is recognized throughout the State for its outstanding staff, its creative and successful programming, and its many dedicated volunteers. This commitment to our business community will only grow stronger in 2022 with your continued support.
Our Chamber staff, led by President & CEO, Fred Boscarino and Vice President Katy Zahradnik, works tirelessly to support the programs and business associated with the Chamber. As an example, the Entrepreneurial Academy – one of few programs like it in the State of Georgia – provides entrepreneurs the basic knowledge needed to start and run their own business. Also unique to the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber are thriving Leads Groups, where weekly more than 95 business leaders gather among one of four different groups to provide support, referrals, and networking opportunities.
Our Chamber has numerous programs that have been flourishing for many years, including the Network Luncheon, Annual Golf Tournament and Leadership Rockdale, to name a few. More recent additions to the Chamber’s program include the we3 Women’s Conference and the Clays for Commerce event.
As you glance through the business plan and take note of the variety and quality of programs, events, and activities the Chamber offers to our businesses and community at-large, you might wonder how such a small staff can manage all of it successfully. The answer to that is quite simple -- they have the support of a tremendous volunteer base. To me, this is what sets us apart. We have the best volunteers who take ownership in THEIR Chamber. I am humbled to be among such an enthusiastic and engaged group of Board members and volunteers.
Our Chamber is here to support you! We look to you to let us know what the local business needs are and to help develop the direction so we can best meet these needs. We know that businesses are reinventing themselves post 2020. We know it is not business as usual; however, the heart of large and small businesses in Rockdale County is still very strong. The Chamber understands the strength of businesses directly impacts our community’s overall economic development. The growth of Rockdale remains in the hands of a strong work force, strong school system, and a safe community. In the new year – 2022 – Chamber will focus on fostering collaboration among business, the City of Conyers, Rockdale County, and the Rockdale County Board of Education to strengthen our partnerships.
I encourage you, if you are not already engaged in a meaningful way, to take the time to participate in your Chamber. Share ideas and concerns. Be a part of this wonderful organization. There is a place for everyone to be involved, no matter the size of your business, your professional goals, or your personal passion for our community.
Together, we will continue to live out our Chamber’s mission as we strive to provide leadership and be the catalyst for promoting and maintaining a pro-business environment in Rockdale County, and to continue enhancing the quality of life of our community.
I appreciate each of you: our Chamber members and volunteers, our Board, and our community partners. Thank you for your service and investment in the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce. I am enthusiastic about what we can accomplish and look forward to working with you as we make 2022 a successful year.

“As a young professional getting started in the insurance industry, the chamber of commerce has been an incredible resource. The opportunity to be able to network and connect with business owners who have been in the game for awhile has provided invaluable experience. I truly feel like I can attribute much of my success so far to a strong chamber of commerce and all the opportunities that are provided to get plugged in.”

“As a local non-profit joining the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber has been one of the most effective and beneficial decisions we at AWAKE Coffee Community have made. Now in our third consecutive year, I firmly believe we would not have experienced the growth we have without the support and encouragement of our Thursday community connectors leads group.”

“Copy Central has been in business in Conyers/Rockdale County for the past 9 years. Shortly after we opened in Conyers we joined the Chamber with the hopes that we would meet prospective customers. Being an active Member of the Chamber has allowed us not only to grow our Customer base but to get involved in the Community on a more personal basis. Many members of the Chamber are not only Customers of Copy Central but are valued Friends and Partners in Community Affairs.”

“The Conyers-Rockdale Chamber is a great way to meet business people in the community and to make business connections that benefit every one involved. Also a great way to plug in by serving on any of the many committees that the Chamber offers. Definitely a positive return on our investment at Conyers Flower Shop, Inc.”
-Alan Sherrill, Conyers Flower Shop, Inc.
“My Thursday morning leads group has been great for my business. In the last 12 months, I have had about 20 different leads passed to me and that equaled about $80,000 in closed business. We are like family now!”
