Message from Chairman
As we welcome the year 2021, I am excited and honored to serve as your Chairman of the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber Board of Governors. I joined this Chamber in 1992 when our family opened a new business in Conyers and I have been a member ever since. In 2005, I opened a business of my own and continued my Chamber membership. I also decided to go through Leadership Rockdale in 2006, which brought me into a greater appreciation of what our community has to offer. I learned how to be a better community servant which also led to our Leadership Rockdale Class choosing me to be our class representative on the Chamber Board. I have been on our board ever since and have considered this position a great privilege.
The Chamber is led by President & CEO, Fred Boscarino, who works tirelessly to support and nurture new and existing businesses through programs such as Entrepreneurial Academy – one of few programs like it in the State of Georgia – that provides entrepreneurs the basic knowledge needed to start and run their own business. Also unique to the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber are thriving Leads Groups, where weekly over 120 businesses gather in one of four different groups to provide support, referrals and networking with each other.
In addition to these programs, the Chamber has numerous more traditional programs that have been flourishing for many years, such as the Network Lunch event, Annual Golf Tournament and Leadership Rockdale program, just to name a few. Newer programs to the Chamber are the we3 Women’s Conference which grows exponentially each year, as well as the Clays for Commerce event. This year we will begin a second level of our Entrepreneurial Academy to bring greater knowledge to our previous graduates and established entrepreneurs. I look forward to seeing continued growth with the newer programs, and further enhancing the established programs, so that everyone finds value in being a member of the Chamber.
If you glance through the business plan and take note of the variety, quantity and quality of programs the Chamber offers our businesses and community at large, you might wonder how such a small staff can manage all of it successfully. Well, the answer to that is quite simple -- they cannot do it without the support of a tremendous volunteer base. To me, this is what sets us apart. We have the best volunteers taking ownership in THEIR Chamber. I am humbled to be among such an enthusiastic and engaged group of Board members and volunteers.
I encourage you to become a community servant through this wonderful organization. There is a place for everyone to serve, no matter the size of your business, your professional goals or your personal passion for our community.
I will remind you of the Chamber’s mission statement: We strive to provide leadership and be the catalyst for promoting and maintaining a pro business environment, and to continue enhancing the quality of life for our community. To live our mission, we must work together to build upon our great foundation, to challenge each member to actively participate and work to grow our Chamber. We all have an opportunity to positively impact our community’s education, economic development and the success of our new and existing businesses by simply getting involved.
I appreciate all of our members, volunteers and Board for all that you bring to our Chamber. I am here to lead us into a great year of serving our Conyers – Rockdale Community as we make 2020 a memorable year.

“As a young professional getting started in the insurance industry, the chamber of commerce has been an incredible resource. The opportunity to be able to network and connect with business owners who have been in the game for awhile has provided invaluable experience. I truly feel like I can attribute much of my success so far to a strong chamber of commerce and all the opportunities that are provided to get plugged in.”
- Chris Simmons, Chapman Insurance Group Inc., Nationwide Insurance

“As a local non-profit joining the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber has been one of the most effective and beneficial decisions we at AWAKE Coffee Community have made. Now in our third consecutive year, I firmly believe we would not have experienced the growth we have without the support and encouragement of our Thursday community connectors leads group.”
-Noelle Cosby, President and Co-Founder
“Copy Central has been in business in Conyers/Rockdale County for the past 9 years. Shortly after we opened in Conyers we joined the Chamber with the hopes that we would meet prospective customers. Being an active Member of the Chamber has allowed us not only to grow our Customer base but to get involved in the Community on a more personal basis. Many members of the Chamber are not only Customers of Copy Central but are valued Friends and Partners in Community Affairs.”

“The Conyers-Rockdale Chamber is a great way to meet business people in the community and to make business connections that benefit every one involved. Also a great way to plug in by serving on any of the many committees that the Chamber offers. Definitely a positive return on our investment at Conyers Flower Shop, Inc.”
-Alan Sherrill, Conyers Flower Shop, Inc.
“My Thursday morning leads group has been great for my business. In the last 12 months, I have had about 20 different leads passed to me and that equaled about $80,000 in closed business. We are like family now!”
